Matthew 6:5-15, NKJV
The Model Prayer
5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.[b] 7 And when you pray, do not u...se vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.[c]
14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 6:9-13, King James Version (KJV)

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Jesus Prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane

Mark 14:32-39 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Prayer in the Garden

32 Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. 34 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful,even to death. Stay here and watch.”

35 He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. 36 And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me;nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.

37 Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

39 Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words.

2019 Masters
I am not a golf player, but I watched part of the 2019 Masters.

When I saw that Tiger Woods was at 3rd place, I felt led to pray for him to win, given all that he went through in his personal affairs, surgeries, and so on…

He is a champion that is worthy of all the compliments, for his determination and hard work in his career.

His success is a testimony that all of us can ‘comeback’ and do what seems impossible.

The greatest prayer of all is the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13).

Not only is it powerful as a whole but each of its individual phrases is also very

 significant. What does this portion of the Lord’s Prayer say to you?

James 5:14-16 New King James Version (NKJV)

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

16 [a]Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, [b]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Daniel 9:3

And I set my face to the Lord God,

to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting,

 and sackcloth, and ashes:

"Therefore I say unto you,

What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,

believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."

Mark 11:24,KJV.

Colossians 3:15-17 New King James Version (NKJV)

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Matthew 21:21-22 New King James Version (NKJV)

21 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. 22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

THE WORD FOR 27 April 2012

Yet You heard my cry for mercy when I called to You for help.

 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

Psalm 31:22 & 24

It is in the darkest moments of our lives that His presence

and power are most visible,

 bringing stability in the areas where it feels like we have lost control.

"For with God nothing shall be impossible."

 Luke 1:37, KJV.

Isaiah 58, New King James Version
Fasting that Pleases God
58 “Cry aloud, [a]spare not;
Lift up your voice like a trumpet;
Tell My people their transgression,
And the house of Jacob their sins.
2 Yet they seek Me daily,
And delight to know My ways,
As a nation that did righteousness,
And did not forsake the ordinance of their God.
They ask of Me the ordinances of justice;
They take delight in approaching God.
3 ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and You have not seen?
Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?’
“In fact, in the day of your fast you find pleasure,
And [b]exploit all your laborers.
4 Indeed you fast for strife and debate,
And to strike with the fist of wickedness.
You will not fast as you do this day,
To make your voice heard on high.
5 Is it a fast that I have chosen,
A day for a man to afflict his soul?
Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush,
And to spread out sackcloth and ashes?
Would you call this a fast,
And an acceptable day to the Lord?
6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the [c]heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are [d]cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’
“If you take away the yoke from your midst,
The [e]pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your [f]darkness shall be as the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
12 Those from among you
Shall build the old waste places;
You shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach,
The Restorer of [g]Streets to Dwell In.
13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,
14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord;
And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth,
And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father.
The mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

"Delight yourself also in the Lord,

and He will give you the desires

and secret petitions of your heart."

Psalm 37: 4, Amplified Bible.

 Jesus Is Coming Again by Isaac Kubvoruno

Our father in Heaven; I pray for everyone connected to me through this ministry, in Jesus' name. Many are going through difficult & painful trials; please make a way. I pray for families that are grieving the loss of loved ones; please comfort them. Many have lost homes & belongings due to natural disasters; please restore what the enemy has taken. I pray for those who are exiled & displaced by war; please protect & provide. For many without jobs who are struggling to feed their families; please hear their cries. Those who just learned they have a terminal disease & have been given a few days to live; please intervene. Then there are many with various unspoken requests that are praying for breakthroughs; please meet them at their points of need. In Jesus name, Amen.

"And when they had prayed,

the place where they were assembled together was shaken;

and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit,

and they spoke the word of God with boldness."

Acts 4:31 New King James Version (NKJV)

Prayer and the Golden Rule

7“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and

you will find; knock, and it will be opened to

you.

8“For everyone who asks receives, and he

who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it

will be opened.

9“Or what man is there among you who,

when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a

stone?

10“Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give

him a snake, will he?

11“If you then, being evil, know how to give

good gifts to your children, how much more

will your Father who is in heaven give what is

good  to those  who ask Him!
