When Shaquille O'neal was drafted into the NBA, he spent the first million that he earned within 30 minutes. O'neal then received a phone call from his banker, who scolded him, and told him that he would end up joining the list of former athletes who ended up broke if the current trend continued.

O'neal decided to sharpen up his education on business and finance. He returned to college, completing his Bachelor's degree, followed by his M.B.A, and lastly, his Ed.D. That's right, he is now Dr. Shaquille O'neal.

As of today, Shaq is the joint owner of 155 Five Guys Burgers restaurants, 17 Auntie Annie's Pretzels restaurants, 150 car washes, 40 24-hour fitness centers, a shopping center, a movie theater, and several Las Vegas nightclubs.

In addition to his business holdings, O'neal still earns $22 million per year (roughly $423,000 per week) from his endorsement deals with Arizona Creme soda, Icy Hot, Gold Bond, Buick, Zales, and at least a half dozen additional corporate sponsors. He is also a studio analyst for TNT.

In Shaq's own words, "It is not about how much money you make. The question is are you educated enough to KEEP it."

The Cheerful Giver

The point is this:

whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly,

and whoever sows bountifully[a] will also reap

 bountifully.

"Fear not, for I am with you;

Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

Isaiah 41:10,New King James Version (NKJV)

Matthew 25:14-30 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Parable of the Talents

14 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

20 “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Welldone, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’22 He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what isyours.’

26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Luke 16:1-16, New King James Version
The Parable of the Unjust Steward
16 He also said to His disciples: “There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was [a]wasting his goods. 2 So he called him and said to him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.’

3 “Then the steward said within himself, ‘What shall I do? For my master is taking the stewardship away from me. I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg. 4 I have resolved what to do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.’

5 “So he called every one of his master’s debtors to him, and said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ 6 And he said, ‘A hundred [b]measures of oil.’ So he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’ 7 Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ So he said, ‘A hundred [c]measures of wheat.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’ 8 So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.

9 “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous [d]mammon, that when [e]you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home. 10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. 11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?

13 “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

The Law, the Prophets, and the Kingdom
14 Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they [f]derided Him. 15 And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

16 “The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it.

QUOTE

GOD WANTS YOU PROSPEROUS IN ALL THINGS By Jemima Rayan

When we read about the lives of the saints in the Bible, they were prosperous. Abraham was a very rich man. Job was a prosperous man in the east. Our God is a God who says inPsalm 50:10, “For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.” The word of God declares in Psalm 24:1, “ The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”God owns everything in this earth. He is the creator of the Universe. We serve a great and mighty God.

Some think that we will enjoy the riches only when we get to heaven. That is not the case. Our God wants us to enjoy the riches here in this side of heaven that is right here on the earth. But there is a condition to be prosperous God’s way. We need to be righteous before the Lord. When we align ourselves with the will of God, when we walk in the ways of God and when we live by the word of God, that is when we position ourselves to receive from the Lord. You may be in a position where you are going through challenges in your life. It doesn’t matter. You can be what God wants you to be if you will do what God wants you to do.

First things first

Look at the verse in Proverbs 3: 9, “Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the first fruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.”

Matthew 6:33 say,“But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.”

Notice the word, “first” in both the scripture portions. First means first. Give God first place in your life! God should become your first choice and not your last chance. If the Lord is not the Lord of all you have, He is not the Lord at all. The Word of God tells us clearly in Deuteronomy 8:18 that in order for us to prosper, we must give the Lord first place in our lives.“But you shall remember the Lord your God: for it is he that gives you the power to get wealth.”First of all we need to remember that it is the Lord who gives us the wealth. We must put God’s interests ahead of ours.

God wants to be the first in our personal life, first in our family life, first in our corporate life, first in our finances, first in our priorities. As we place God first, all His blessings will be added to our lives. Put Him above all things!

God does not want to twist your arms and get your money. He does not want our money. But God loves a cheerful giver. When we give to the Lord, we honor Him. When we give with a smile from your heart, it pleases the Lord. The Lord loves such a person. When we give to the Lord, it is an outward demonstration of our love toward God and His work.

Give and it shall be given

In Luke 6:38, “ Give and it shall be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom, For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”When we give, we activate a powerful principle. It will work for everyone who will put the principle to work. Our God is a God who multiplies the seed that we sow. When we give, God makes sure that we get it back in a much bigger and better way.

Psalm 112 talks about the blessing that comes to a giver. Ecclesiastes 11:1 says,“Cast your bread upon the waters: for you will find it after many days.” Ecclesiastes 11:6 says, “ In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand; For you do not know which will prosper, Either this or that, Or whether both alike will be good.

Sometimes we may not have a whole lot to give. That is when we must realize that it is the seed that we have. We must not look at the situations around us when we sow. Regardless of the circumstances, we must keep giving. God will see to it that whatever we plant in faith prospers. Do you know why the seed multiplies? It is because of the promise of God. If God said it, He will do it. We must not be discouraged when we sow.

Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not”. Prosperity is God’s gift to His people.

Prosperity is promised to the Kingdom builders

Do you know why God gave the children of Israel a lot of wealth? It is because God wanted them to build His tabernacle in the wilderness. Even today, God blesses us in order for us to be a blessing.

God wants His children to be faithful in money matters.Jesus said in Luke 16:11, “Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon (material things like money, houses, lands), who will commit to your trust the true riches?

God wants to test our faithfulness before He can entrust us with great riches. Prosperity begins when we build God’s kingdom. God’s ultimate goal is to commit to our trust the true riches. To get there, we need to be faithful in the small things that God has given us.

Look at what the Bible says about the house of God’s children. “The tent of the upright shall flourish” (Proverbs 14:11).“In the house of the righteous there is much treasure” (Proverbs 15:6).God wants his children’s house be filled with good stuff. That is the will of God.God’s word in 3 John 2 says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

May the Lord prosper you in all things and bless you with good health as your soul prospers. Amen.send this article to a friend
